Best printer settings for crisp line art

Paper size, margins, and the one setting that stops pages printing too faint.

Use the right paper size

All Renardia PDFs are formatted for standard US Letter (8.5" × 11") or A4 paper. In your print dialog, make sure 'Page Size' is set correctly. Avoid 'Fit to Page' if you want the lines to print at their intended thickness.

Set quality to 'High' or 'Best'

Standard or draft mode can make thin lines appear faint or grainy. Set print quality to 'High' or 'Best' in your printer settings. If your printer has a 'Photo' mode, use it — the extra ink density makes a noticeable difference on coloring pages.

Disable 'Economy' or 'Toner Save' mode

Most printers have an ink-saving feature that reduces line darkness. Turn off 'Economy Mode', 'Toner Save', or 'Draft Mode' before printing. This is the single most common cause of faint-looking coloring pages.
